Have listened to this audiobook before and found it enchanting. Jordan’s first, and in my opinion, greatest, most detailed work; you feel like you’re experiencing the adventure with the characters in a way that other others cannot match.

The Wheel of Time series was my most influential read during my middle school years. I even turned my best friend into my warder and had loud arguements in the school cafeteria about whether or not Bela was the Creater.

  46. February 6, 2012 at 10:33 am | #47

I love this audiobook. James Rigney is a masterfully weaves this epic tale of three Ta’veren. And, Michael Kramer and Kate Reading’s narration is absolutely enchanting.

  84. Asmodeous Flynn
    February 6, 2012 at 11:04 am | #85

This is the book that started me going for 16 years reading rereading and the rereading again. The series just doesn’t get old. By the time you finish reading all the books, you have forgotten little details at the beginning,

  85. February 6, 2012 at 11:04 am | #86

I’m actually re-reading this series right now (8th time). It is by-far one of the best. This would be awesome to win. All of my books from this series are taped and re taped so they won’t fall apart lol.

  92. February 6, 2012 at 11:07 am | #93

I would love to have this so I can listen on my long drives to Ft. Stewart!

  93. February 6, 2012 at 11:07 am | #94

Trying to get my Dad into the series, he’s a huge audiobook fan, this would be a perfect way to introduce him to the series, but the Wheel weaves as the Wheel will…

  94. February 6, 2012 at 11:07 am | #95

Not a big reader but after Rand saw Lan for the first time I couldn’t put the books down. i love Wheel of Time.

  95. February 6, 2012 at 11:08 am | #96

I would like to win this so my sons, one who is not a big reader and the other who is too daunted by thr size of this series could enjoy the Wheel of Time as much as I do.

  96. Ron Zukowski
    February 6, 2012 at 11:08 am | #97

I got into this ten years after The Eye was opened (i await the groans). It promptly ate portions of my life ,and helped put off Old-TImer’s and other forms of Demented-ness. I do however still think that R.J. missed a shot by not having Taim = Demandred. Just because a thing is too obvious doesn’t make it bad [;-)

  97. Fred Winter

  107. Irene Ewing
    February 6, 2012 at 11:13 am | #108

Oh wow! To have this would be wonderful. My job keeps me “on the go” so I tend to listen to audio book and music for 5 hours straight. To have EotW to listen to…oh yeah!

  108. February 6, 2012 at 11:13 am | #109

Not just “a beginning”, but “THE Beginning”. Thanks for the chance to win a copy.

I started reading this series while deployed to the gulf, during the 1st gulf war. I have waited patiently, yet eagerly, for each book in the series to come out. Now, here we are waiting on the last book, and I am excited, and disappointed at the same time. I don’t want it to end.

  122. Dave

    February 6, 2012 at 11:27 am | #126

Sounds good. I love the Wheel Of Time series. Can’t wait for A Memory of Light (still say that is an ominous sounding title).

  126. February 6, 2012 at 11:29 am | #127

I’m in for this, I’d love to be able to listen to this.

  127. Meghan
    February 6, 2012 at 11:30 am | #128

I just re-read them all recently, but wouldn’t mind an audio book version (although it might annoy me to hear the reader say the names the right way instead of the way I’m used to reading them!)

  128. David S.
    February 6, 2012 at 11:31 am | #129

I rented these on cassette when I first started getting into audio books. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading do a wonderful job reading this series. They really make the characters come alive!

  129. Peter Pearson
    February 6, 2012 at 11:31 am | #130

Since getting into the series at least 15 years ago (or so), I’ve re-read the series every time a new title in the series is slated to release (just to make sure I have everything fresh in my mind when I crack the latest in this epic story). Eye of the World always seems to set the hook no matter how many time I’ve read it. I would love to be able to hear it in audio form.

It is easy to see why people who start The Wheel of Time become almost cult like in their devotion to the series! It is so addicting and each re-read produces another nugget of the world so masterfully created inside!

Living in the “Two Rivers” (Charleston, SC), makes this series very special to me. There is an Ogier street downtown, and actually two rivers that surround the peninsula, making me a true native of Manetheren. “Tai’shar Manetheren!” Would absolutely love this audiobook. It would go well with my WoT tattoos.

  178. February 6, 2012 at 1:05 pm | #179

    February 6, 2012 at 1:33 pm | #190

I was first introduced to this series many years ago by my then teen-aged son. Robert Jordan transcended generations as my mother-in-law (70′s) my husband and I (50′s) my children (30′s) and my grandchildren (teens) all have been swept away into the world of good/evil, black/white, male/female strengths and weaknesses. The series is in a class by itself and we cannot WAIT for the final book. My oldest son, Eric, is blind and I cannot imagine a better present to give him than the audio version of this wonderful story.

Much of the characters’ behaviorism stems from the culture of their society, which is reflected in their linguistics. To hear the proper pronunciation would really bring the story to life.

I would love to win the audio book, but i wouldnt keep it for myself. You see my best friend got me hooked on this series and i would give it to him as a thank you present. My sister gave me book 7 when it was first published, but i couldnt get my wrapped into it. I didnt know it was a series then, a year later i met a new friend and we hit it off. He saw i had book 7 and asked ho i liked the series, when he found out i wasnt reading the series he bugged me for months about it. I decide to read the series just to shut him up and now i cant stop reading and rereading the series.

Jordan has been one of the greatest influences on my fledgling fantasy-writing career. I have high-lighted and starred entire sections of the Wheel of Time, studying his style, trying to understand how he has woven his words to cast his spell and enthrall the reader. I would love to hear the words come alive in an audio version.

I normally check books to make sure I don’t get sucked into the beginning of a long-running series. Unfortunately, there is a glossary at the back of WoT and it masked the “Here ends Book 1…” from my inspection.

That was probably late-1990. Egad, what a wait it has been! Started the series at age 17 and here I am 38-and-counting!

I purchased a copy of “The Eye Of The World” in 1990 at a Stars and Stripes bookstore in Spain; and, thoroughly enjoyed reading it while flying from Spain to the Middle East. Since then, I’ve anxiously awaited the release of each successive WoT novel, and have reread the series from the very beginning before each new novel was released. Robert Jordan was my favorite author; and, I was delighted to hear that Brandon Sanderson accepted the task of writing the remainder of the story in an effort to bring the series to an appropriate conclusion.
