March #TorChat lineup revealed

March is Women’s History Month, and to help celebrate, Tor Books has chosen three amazing female authors to join our monthly #TorChat: Deborah Coonts, Kira Peikoff, and Hilary Davidson! Join us on Wednesday, March 21st from 4 to 5 PM EST as they chat about what it means to be a female in the book world.

Tor Books (@torbooks) is thrilled to announce the March #TorChat, part of a monthly series of genre-themed, hour-long chats created by Tor Books and hosted on Twitter.

March is Women’s History Month, what better way is there to celebrate than by talking to three smart, successful women? Our special guests this month are Deborah Coonts (@DeborahCoonts), the author of So Damn Lucky, about a women with the most interesting job in Vegas—problem solver and customer relations at the mega-casino Babylon; Kira Peikoff (@KiraPeikoff), the debut author of Living Proof, a thought-provoking thriller following a female doctor who falls for a man determined to break her; and Hilary Davidson (@hilarydavidson), the Anthony-winning author of The Next One to Fall, about a travel writer drawn into dangerous and mysterious circumstances after finding a dying woman at Machu Picchu. These amazing authors will discuss their books, writing a tough female protagonist, and what it’s like being a woman in the publishing world!

The chat will be loosely moderated by Tor Associate Publicist Leah Withers (@PhaeTo) and fans are invited to follow or join using the Twitter hashtag #TorChat!

About the Authors:

Deborah Coonts’s (@DeborahCoonts) mother tells her she was born in Texas a very long time ago, though she’s not totally sure—her mother can’t be trusted. But she was definitely raised in Texas on barbeque, Mexican food and beer. She currently resides in Las Vegas, where family and friends tell her she can’t get into too much trouble. Silly people. Coonts has built her own business, practiced law, flown airplanes, written a humor column for a national magazine, and survived a teenager. So Damn Lucky is her third novel.

Kira Peikoff (@KiraPeikoff) has written for the New York Daily News, The Orange County Register, Newsday, and New York magazine. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from NYU. Living Proof is her first novel.

Hilary Davidson (@hilarydavidson) won the Anthony Award for Best First Novel for her first novel The Damage Done. The book also earned a Crimespree Award and was a finalist for the Arthur Ellis and Macavity awards. Hilary’s widely acclaimed short stories have been featured in publications from Ellery Queen to Thuglit, and in many anthologies. A Toronto-born travel journalist and the author of eighteen nonfiction books, she has lived in New York City since October 2001. Her most recent book The Last One to Fall.
